I watched this movie mainly for 3 reasons. One, I'm a Sandra Bullock fan. Surprise? Maybe not.^_^ But yep I am. Loved her during her Speed days with Keanu, Two Weeks Notice, Miss Congeniality, when she got reunited with Keanu in The Lake House and now The Proposal. She's one of my favorite Hollywood actresses. Her timing for comedy is just great.

Reason number two, it's a romantic-comedy film. I'm a total sucker for this kind of movie.XD And the thought that it's the girl who first proposed to the guy sounds appealing to me. LOL. This could be the modern shotgun wedding. Before, a woman forces a man to marry her because she's pregnant. Now, a woman forces a man to marry her because one, he's the solution for her deportation and two, he is terrified of her. So at least more or less, I finally have a Plan B for marriage. If nobody proposes to me at the age of 28, I'd take it from this movie what to do next.XD

Reason number three, the main character's name is Margaret and that too is my "American-name" for work and my real second name. If not for this movie, I wouldn't have thought of checking what's the origin of the name is. According to my little research, it is of Persian origin. Something to do with Pearls. But anyway, I've never taken fancy of my second name. I guess that's pretty obvious by the way I had decided what my url for this blog is. It's my real name, but not my full name. I removed my second name from the url.

Margaret reminds me of my pre-school teacher. She really loves calling me by that name. And I never liked hearing it. I don't know. Margaret sounds old for me those days. I would really appreciate if you'd call me Kristine. haha. But now, I'm pretty much used to be called Margaret. I'm known in the office by that name and most of them don't even know that it's just my second name. And I think I'm already old enough as well. lol. Well, a lot of saints, queens and prominent people was named Margaret. Margaret Mitchell (Gone with the Wind author), Margaret Thatcher (the only female British Prime Minister) , Margaret I and II, St. Margaret of Antioch. Oh just search for Margaret in Wikipedia and you'd get all the list. haha.

If I am to compare though all these real Margaret to Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock's character in this movie), I'd say they all have the same characteristic, they are portrayed to be tough and high powered. Hmmm.... Margaret is not that bad after all. XD

But anyway, I'm suppose to tell something about the movie. I would really recommend it. I had great laughs, totally totally crazy and though the story is of course predictable, it's still purely entertaining. You will love the granny character. LOL.

go go go! watch it now.XD

I am having some tonight.XD

hahaha.

The chocolate part seems pretty plausible right? But how about the kisses? Believe me I am not lying. I did had some tonight.^_^ As for the chocolates, they came from our big bosses from U.S. They paid us a visit today and it's their pasalubong. As for the kisses, I got that from my TL. ----- Peanut kisses. LOL. If you're not familiar with it, it's a delicacy from the Philippines. My TL came from Bohol so he gave everybody peanut kisses. Yeah right. I sure hope the kisses are real kisses and the chocalates came from someone else. Unfortunately they're not but I still enjoyed eating them! Pampering my sweet-tooth.^_^
haha. what a big header. lol. please tell me if you have a hard time loading it so I can edit it.=)

great day so far. no game today. yes!!! can go home early. yippeeeeyyy!!!^_^
Her glance met mine, and I saw myself reflected in the wide mirror of her eyes. The shock of the face I saw there saved her life for a few thorny moments.
-Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.13

Don't worry, I am not that lucky enough to be the first person who was able to completely read the whole story of the Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer. Although I would really love to read it too and get a copy of it. Like many twilighters, I too would want to get a piece of Edward Cullen. And knowing what's on his mind is definitely a must read as well. But the line above is very much applicable about what happened to me last night. Beware of a scary story. XD

I was unable to sleep the whole night last night. My account manager made a sudden change in my schedule that would require me to sleep the whole night. Unfortunately, I slept the whole day so I was having trouble sleeping. I tried to read, listened to mellow music, forced my eyes to close and get sleepy but none of it worked. So instead, I did everything to keep my sleeplessness active. I ate chips, read magazines, went down and watched TV for a bit, get back to my room and did some picture taking. Since I've just recently cut my hair and had it straight, I've been pretty much been a narcissist over it. When I checked on my pictures, I saw something that actually scared me!!! and to think that it was almost midnight that time. It's like a Sadako of The Ring reincarnation. The only bad thing is, it was me. LOL. Crazy.XD

saved my life for a few thorny moments...

Hahaha. XD

Promise! I did not put on any white powder or some eye liner to make it look like that. It came naturally. Maybe I should send my resume with one of those pics for a scary movie. That would be beneficial for movie producers. Lesser expenses since I no longer need prosthetic. LOL.

Well, in a way I could be considered as a vampire. After all, with this kind of job that I am in, I usually go out at night and sleep during day time.

I am the modern vampire.^_^
This part of my life, this part right here. This part is called being stupid.

I felt fucked up these last couple of days. Pardon me for the foul language. There's been a lot of things going on in my life lately that I don't think I could ever describe them as good. Although in a way, I don't have any big reason to feel that way.

Yesterday, I woke up around 5:30 PM. I was transferred to a new account and to tell it frankly, it's giving me a lot of stress. Well, nobody said it's going to be easy in the first place. It's a tough account, a tough job that I think every time I go home after work, it feels like I could fell asleep even before my body hits the bed. So maybe I could blame stress/sleepiness/grumpiness for my stupidity yesterday. I left my key for my room inside the room. Stupid stupid stupid. That means I have no way to enter it unless I destroy the door knob or break in to the window. It ended up me doing both.

My room mate went home to her province and our land lord was not around either so I got no one to ask for a spare key. The other boarders helped me in. We tried to force opening the door. That only damaged the door knob but the freaking door still won't open. We cut the window screen and removed the jealousy window one by one till a human body can pass through it. It actually worked. So all in all, what it takes for an amateur to break in to her own room is a broken doorknob, a broken window, and some few shoulder bruises.

Anyway, I had it fixed today, or I fixed it today. Yes, talking about carpentry. And I promised myself that from this day on, I'll have my keys around my neck all the time as in ALL THE TIME.

So much of that, I'm trying to feel better now. Be optimistic: The new account can't be that bad and at least, we have a new lock and I have a new look. lol. What an instant change of topic. haha. But I was planning to blog right after I had my hair cut but I was not in the mood for the last days so was not able to. So I'd better just add it here.

waking up for a new day

Good grief. My eye-bags are bigger than my eyes. And to think all I do is work and sleep. -_-
maybe I won't be missing home.

This week is not my best week. Let's just say, there's some major changes in the company and schedule is really crazy. But no matter how crazy a schedule could go, if you want to do something, there's definitely a way to do it right? Yep, just like the old saying goes: if there's a will, there's a way. And I was 500% willing to watch Harry Potter the Half-Blood Prince on its first day. All thanks to the advent of technology, I get to apply for a seat reservation on line. That saved me from the inconvenience of falling in line and I get to watch the movie on my favorite movie seat area. But I guess the right question would be whether the movie was worth all of it. I could definitely say, Yes, it is worth all the wait.

I actually reread the book before I decided to watch the movie. Aside from the fact that I remembered Dumbledore died in that book, I had a vague memory of want really happened on that book. I wanted to refresh my memory even the tiniest detail about this sequel. And although the movie as usual had made some revisions, it actually did not matter for me. It's a great combination and right blend of comedy, drama, action and of course romance! I love the love triangle of Hermione, Ron and Lavender Brown! I love Won-Won! LOL. For Harry and Ginny? Hmmmm....I got nothing against Bonnie Wright except the fact that Daniel Radcliffe is meant for me. LOL.

But seriously, I totally recommend the movie. I'm planning to watch it again with a friend this time. haha. We'll see.^_^

Ever heard the song Got to Believe in Magic? There's a actually a line from that song that had made me ponder over lover's surreality. The line goes, Got to believe in magic, tell me how two people find each other, in a world that is full of strangers. It's true isn't it? How great it could be that from the billions of people around the Earth, you'd get to find that sole person who's right for you. It's simply amazing how the Universe works right?

But actually, I'm not suppose to write something about that. I just can't think of the right metaphor to compare what we have. I'm not sure how to put it. In a way anybody could just possibly say that what we have is what other people could also have or is having. That is actually true. We were just some common people brought about by common interests. Although I would rather say that we are bonded more by our differences. But no matter how common what we have for others eyes, for us, it's definitely special. And yes, it's truly amazing as well that in a world full of strangers, we get to meet these set of people, these set of friends.

I've received a notification from a social networking site that it's my gang's birthday today. I'm proud and happy to say that I've been a member of an all-girls group back in college. We did not actually plan nor agreed that today is the birth of our relationship and till now, it's still a mystery for me as to why our Birthday was set to July 14. After all unlike a lovers relationship that usually involves a "yes, I love you too" before you'd set that a certain day as your anniversary, a platonic relationship don't require specific dates. Maybe my memory simply failed me. Maybe a little mystery is good. Maybe July 14 was just set for formality sake. But definitely maybe, it doesn't matter after all.

All I know is that I've found a sisterhood that at times seems to be too good to be true for me but then I'd realize that they're really true! People whom I haven't been with since childhood but became my friends and sisters for life. I haven't been with them half of my life but they were there when life complexities arise, they made life easier to deal with and though cliched, they were their when it mattered the most.

It's been six years now. And as always when I try to think about the years we've spent together, nothing much had changed except the number of years we had increased and the fact that our friendship is deeper than ever. And that I could rave all day about how lucky I am for being blessed with a friendship like this with people like them.

I love my gang. I love them so much I thought my heart would burst.

JMVECK may not mean anything to anybody. It might just be some jumbled letters at a first glance. But that word defines friendship for me. And we never needed a magical traveling pants to make it through.

And I know, I am a JMVECK member for life.

I'm filled with happiness and sadness when I tried to look for pictures that the six of us were complete. I'm a bit saddened by the thought that we haven't have anything latest that I could show off. But looking at these photos makes me miss the times I've spent we've these girls but looking at them again, no matter how blurred they look like, the memory seems just like yesterday.

We look so young and innocent back then...

But of course we are not that old today but not that innocent either. ^_^

To my pals, Happy 6th Anniversary guyz. Thank you for the friendship. I'm looking forward for more years with you. And seriously, we need to have some latest picture taking.^_^

Life's a climb... but the view is great. - Hannah Montana The Movie.

Don't you think I'm too old for this kind of movie? ^_^ Haha. I think we are never too old for anything. Although during my time, if we'd talk about Disney Teens, I'd think of Hillary Duff right away. She was the Disney Icon during my time. But hey that is not so long ago! ^_^

But Miley Cyrus, hmmmm...she's probably the most popular teenager today. But I've never went crazy over her, might be the time factor. lol. But after watching this movie, I actually like her. She's very charming and I love the movie OST. And although the plot of the movie is pretty much very predictable, I could let it pass. I don't know how to say it in English but in Filipino, we call it "kilig factor". And I'm seriously thinking of learning how to dance that "Hoedown Throwdown"-dance. ROFL.

It's OST is now part of my playlist. I will try that Hoedown thing but only in my room. And if no one is around. LOL.

Finally, it's my day off. Yup. You read it right. Tuesday is a rest day for this week. No more Thank God it's Friday. Changes are set to happen in our company and so with the staffing and our schedules but that would be a different story. For now, I am suppose to tell the tale of what happened last Saturday which I had failed to write the day after as promised.

As what I had mentioned, the outing was surprisingly fun. I've never been a beach bum but the thought that I'd finally get to go in one of the beaches here in Cebu which is one of the most popular tourist destination here in the country certainly thrilled me. So, aside from the obvious that the food was great, there are two things that had made that beach experience memorable. One, It's my first time to do kayaking and Two, It's my first time to hold an eel.

Alright, let's start with the second one. The "EEL-ectrifying" experience.

With our company outing themed like a "Survivor"-experience, certainly, we had somehow expected for some grossing, yucky, worm-eating kind of experience. Fortunately, although there was a game that involved worms, the eating part was not included. Unfortunately, the yucky part was included. And unfortunately again, I was one of those who was blind-folded to grab those yucky stuffs.

I still can't believe I hold that thing. -_-

But the good thing is, my team won that game. Wohooh!!!! But holding that eel made me think I was holding a snake. A long, slimy, soft thing. One word: eew.

Let's try to forget about that. The best part of the day was when me and my 2 office mates, Charity and Ms. Alice, separated from the rest and decided to do something stupid: Kayaking.

Alright, you might think that Kayaking is not a stupid thing and I will agree with you. I could honestly say that it's one of the best experience I ever had. And if given a chance to do it again, I will certainly do. But I'll make sure that next time I will make necessary precautions before I'd jump in to it again.

Mistake number 1. Did not apply sunblock. I think you could call us crazy that we went to the sea around 1:30 PM and the sun is scourging us with it's heat. We were all excited to paddle that we didn't mind (at least at first) that we'd get our ourselves sunburn. And yep, we toasted our selves. And yes until now, it still hurts every time I put my shirt on.

Mistake number 2. I brought Sarong. Although sarong could at least cover me from the sun's rays, there's always the possibility that you'd drop it in the water. And sarong being a "dye"-printed clothe has of course the possibility of staining your clothes. And yep, it stained my new-company outing shirt. What a bummer.

Mistake number 3. Did not do some Warm-up. This is the biggest mistake ever. Who would have thought that Kayaking is more tiring than doing some thread mill or lifting some weights? My back was so painful I feel like stripping off my shoulders after wards. LOL.

But it was the best experience ever for that day! What an adventure. Who would have thought that I'd actually paddle a kayak knowing that there are sea snakes under me? Seriously there are sea snakes! When we saw them we were like crazy screaming girls (like the reaction when you see your celebrity crush). The only difference is, when you see your idol, you move towards him, while us, when we saw the sea snakes we paddle away from them. LOL. It was really crazy. Maybe I have to thank the two shots of tequila that I had cause I was more of enjoying rather than feeling afraid. hahaha.

ashshsashshs...parsel tongue (that means stay way from me.XD)

Fulfilling To do list #29

Kayaking. It's actually the #29 of my To Do List. I'm not sure if I've already mentioned that I've somehow made a list of things I want to do in my lifetime. I actually got that idea from the A Walk to Remember movie. And the desire to do some kayaking occurred after I've read the book The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. No wonder Noah (the main character of that novel) loves Kayaking so much. It's a great and rewarding experience. (especially that the sea snake did not care about us at all. LOL)

I've never appreciated the sea that much before. And to think that my dad actually practically lives his whole life in the middle of it.^_^ But it's really peaceful out there or it somehow makes you feel at peace. I just love it.

We had a little "rock climbing" after wards. LOL.

and the winner is....ME!!!! hahaha

More Pics.^_^
We had our company outing in Pacific Cebu Resort and I have 2 words for it: Surprisingly Fun!!!

I'm not in a mood though to write some juicy details of what happened. Maybe tomorrow if I've finally had some rest.^_^

For now, a sneak preview of what happened:

Haha. Alright. Those are just some so called "when-vanity-strikes-pics". lol

Maybe tomorrow, I'll have more sense and I'll write better. Or maybe, upload more pics.XD

I only have one complain though. I got sunburn!!!T_T
